Training Overview

Thank you for your interest in MidContinent Airlines training program.

In order to set expectations prior to applying, all pilots that have never flown for MidCon previously will need to complete a phased classroom and qualification program per the syllabus below.


    Basic Indoctrination

    Module 1 – Company Orientation

    • Overview of company history, expectations, crew qualifications and currency

    Module 2 – Fatigue Risk Management

    • Flight and duty limitations and rest requirements

    Module 3 – Meteorology

    • Aviation weather basics

    Module 4 – Dispatch/Flight Release

    • Flight dispatch and release procedures, regulations, and flight plan format guide

    Module 5 – Flight Operations Manual

    • Covers all chapters of the flight ops manual

    Initial General

    Module 6 – Aircraft Performance

    • Takeoff, enroute, and landing performance

    Module 7 – RNAV RNP / RNP AR

    • Qualification course to conduct RNAV RNP / RNP AR approaches

    Module 8 – ILS Category II/III

    • Qualification course to conduct category II and III ILS approaches

    Module 9 – Basic International Qualification

    • Qualification course to conduct extended overwater operations in the Caribbean and Latin America theaters of operation

    Module 10 – Cold Weather Operations

    • MidCon Airlines ground de/anti-icing program

    Module 11 – International Qualification

    • Qualification course to conduct extended diversion time (ETOPS) operations (777/787 only)

    Aircraft Qualification

    Aircraft qualification is three parts:

    Part 1 – Sytems for your assigned fleet.

    Boeing 737 Systems

    • 15 systems validation tests covering all chapters of the Boeing 737 Aircraft Systems Manual

    Boeing 777 Sytems

    • 15 systems validation tests covering all chapters of the Boeing 777 Aircraft Systems Manual

    Boeing 787 Systems

    • 15 systems validation tests covering all chapters of the Boeing 787 Aircraft Systems Manual

    Part 2 – Maneuvers validation

    This evaluation will assess the pilot’s performance in completing flight maneuvers combined with the use of procedures and systems knowledge.


    Part 3 – Initial Operating Experience

    Supervised line operating experience and evaluation in accordance with 121.434
